Dummerston Historical Society will honor its writers with a 2012 exhibit

DUMMERSTON — The Historical Society is searching for published authors to participate in an “Authors of Dummerston” exhibit scheduled to open mid-January, 2012.

The exhibit is open to published authors who either wrote their books while in residence in town or who now living in Dummerston but had their books published while living elsewhere.

A display of books by deceased authors such as Al Morgan, Rudyard Kipling, and Frederic Van de Water will be included. Authors will be asked to display their books, a short biography, posters, and promotional materials from January through March 2012.

Authors will also have the opportunity to give readings and/or short presentations regarding the background of their book, and discuss their experiences and challenges in the writing process, though this is not a prerequisite to participating in the exhibit.

More than 30 authors representing a wide variety of works have already been identified.

If you are a Dummerston published author who has not yet been contacted, or if you know of someone who should be contacted, call Gail Sorenson at 802-254-9311 by Dec. 9.
