BRATTLEBORO — The Brattleboro Music Center welcomes the holiday season with two special events.
The Music School Student Orchestras Concert is set for Tuesday, Dec. 10, at 6:30 p.m. at BMC.
With more than 80 students of all ages performing, the event will feature the Tigers beginning strings class, two Celtic Music class ensembles, the Youth String Orchestra, and the Music in the Schools string ensembles.
For families or individuals considering music lessons, this is an opportunity to experience the BMC firsthand.
The program will wrap up with the BMC Music School String Orchestra playing selections from Bach's Concerto in D major, featuring Laura Vajda on piano, Carl Nielsen's Little Suite for Strings, and Vaughn Williams' Charterhouse Suite. The evening will end with a selection celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the release of the Beatles' Abbey Road.
The concert, at 72 Blanche Moyse Way, is free and open to the public.
The BMC also invites the local community to its annual Holiday Open House on Dec. 13 from 5-7 p.m. This popular annual gathering for the community features musical performances, cookie and tree decorating, festive food, singing, and other fun. All are welcome.
