BRATTLEBORO-We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to the 35 community volunteers and staff from local organizations who recently showed up with heart and energy to make a difference in our neighborhood.
Thanks to this collective effort, we gathered a truckload of garbage from the neighborhood, making our shared space cleaner and more welcoming. A good time was had by all and the weather cooperated.
Among them were dedicated individuals from the Department of Health, Turning Point Recovery Center of Windham County, Department of Corrections, Groundworks staff, the BRAT team, Bennington and Brattleboro AIDS Project staff and board members, local community members, neighbors, and many other good-hearted people also lent their time and hands.
We're also deeply grateful to the Community Substance Use Response and the AIDS Project of Southern Vermont for generously providing snacks and warm beverages that kept spirits high and folks fueled throughout the afternoon and to Groundworks for initiating this event.
This kind of collaboration and community spirit is what makes Brattleboro (and all of southern Vermont) such a special place. Thank you to everyone who came out and showed what's possible when we work together.
Robin Rieske
