BRATTLEBORO-Next Stage Arts continues its Bandwagon Summer Series with a performance by The Blue Dahlia, a world fusion group blending French chanson, reggae, klezmer, Latin rhythms, and more. The open-air concert will take place on Saturday, July 26, at 6 p.m. at the New England Center for Circus Arts (NECCA), 10 Town Crier Drive.
Led by Dahlia Dumont, a Brooklyn native with international roots, The Blue Dahlia merges cultures and genres with a multilingual, multicultural approach. Singing in both French and English, Dumont brings her influences from Senegal and France to Eastern Europe and New York City.
Backed by an ensemble of musicians from around the world, The Blue Dahlia's live performances are known for their infectious energy and rich instrumentation-featuring French and Mexican accordion, klezmer violin, soul vocals, reggae rhythms, Latin percussion, and jazz horns.
The concert will showcase songs from their album Fantasia, released in April 2025 by French label Single Bel. Six years in the making, Fantasia is an artistic evolution that blends world roots, folk, and soul with modern electro-pop. Its lyrics address timely social topics, such as gun culture, consent, spirituality, identity, and love.
The Blue Dahlia will appear in full electric big band formation, with a lineup that includes: George Saenz (accordion, trombone, piano), Yoshiki Yamada (bass), Zoë Aqua (violin), Karina Colis (drums), Jackie Coleman (trumpet), Berta Moreno (saxophone/clarinet), and Diego Cebollero (guitar).
Tickets are $22 in advance and $25 at the gate. Kids under 12 admitted free. Food will be available from Putney General Store, and audience members are encouraged to bring picnic blankets and lawn chairs for a family-friendly evening of global music and community.
