Guilford Center Stage plans auditions for upcoming plays

GUILFORD — Auditions will be held for two upcoming one-act plays on Sunday Feb. 28, from 3 to 5 p.m., at Broad Brook Grange in Guilford.

The production is a project of Guilford Center Stage. Written and directed by local author Michael Nethercott, both works will be premiered in June.

Nocturne Titanica is a mythological take on the sinking of the Titanic, while The Lace Jury is based on one of the first all-women juries in the country at the turn of the century.

Rehearsals will be largely in May, and the performances are Friday, June 3, Saturday, June 4, (both evening shows), and Sunday, June 5 (matinee). Rehearsals and shows take place at the Broad Brook Grange stage in Guilford, about 10 minutes from Exit 1 of Interstate 91 in Brattleboro.

There are almost two dozen roles available, ranging from late teens to 60-plus. Titanica has a mixed cast, and Jury has an all-woman cast of six. Those auditioning are asked to prepare or bring a dramatic reading within a minute in length. Actors will also be considered for the October play (by Charles W. Henry.)

Auditions will take place at the Grange, which is located at 3940 Guilford Center Road. Arrive at any of the scheduled times or call 802-380-2184 or email [email protected] for further information.
