Back O’Town Cajun Band performs on the lawn at Christ Church in Guilford

GUILFORD-The Back O'Town Cajun Band, featuring local musicians, will perform Sunday, Sept. 14, at 5 p.m. on the lawn at Christ Church Guilford, Route 5 in Algiers Village.

Back O'Town Cajun Band - with members Pete and Linda Simoneaux on fiddle, accordion, and vocals, and Michael Pattavina on acoustic guitar and vocals - will perform Cajun and Zydeco dance music. The concert will include pieces from many genres: classic Cajun two-steps and waltzes, old-time country songs, and blues, zydeco, swamp pop, jazz, New Orleans R&B, and Mardi Gras standards.

The Christ Church Guilford Society, a nonprofit, all-volunteer group, says it is working hard to reopen the 1817 building following damage to the roof and ceiling after a lightning strike in September 2023. They say they are grateful for generous support from individuals and granting agencies to make repairs.

The performance is free. Concertgoers should bring a blanket or lawn chair. Light refreshments will be available.
