Bandwagon series continues with Crocodile River Music

BRATTLEBORO-On Saturday, Sept. 6, at Living Memorial Park's Rotary Stage, the Next Stage Arts Bandwagon Summer Series continues with Crocodile River Music.

Crocodile River Music brings together talented artists from Mali, Senegal, Burkina Faso, Guinea, Tanzania, and the U.S. "With a deep commitment to connecting audiences with the rich traditions of African music and art," wrote organizers in a news release, "their mission extends beyond performance. They also seek to educate and inspire through the power of African cultural expression."

The group is diverse in its composition, yet "united in its dedication to sharing African music, art, and culture with audiences of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities," organizers said. "Crocodile River Music strives to create experiences that deepen understanding of the profound value of African arts, histories, and cultures, highlighting them as deserving of lifelong study and appreciation."

Throughout 2025, Next Stage Arts has been celebrating its 15th Anniversary by honoring a pair of Next Stage "Champions" - people who have been instrumental in making Next Stage what it is today - at one event each month. Their September anniversary event is at this concert, where Judy Fink and Herve Pelletier will be saluted.

Tickets are $24 in advance at nextstagearts.org, or $28 at the gate, and children under 12 attend free. Guests are encouraged to bring picnic blankets or chairs to enjoy the show under the open sky. Each show features food vendors (including Smokin' Bowls for this event), drinks, and a play area for kids.
