BRATTLEBORO-Out in the Open, in partnership with Everyone’s Books and Brooks Memorial Library, is proud to present “Better Off Read,” an evening of trans literature and conversation.
The event will take place Friday, June 12, at 7 p.m. at the Brattleboro Museum & Art Center and is free and open to the public.
This program brings together two of the most influential voices in contemporary fiction: Imogen Binnie, author of the seminal novel, Nevada, which was recently named one of The Atlantic’s Great American Novels, and Torrey Peters, the author of the international bestseller Detransition, Baby and a Pulitzer Prize finalist for her 2025 book, Stag Dance.
Better Off Read offers the community an opportunity to engage with these award-winning authors. The evening will include readings, discussion, a question-and-answer session, and book signings.
Guests can enjoy desserts, and books will be for sale through Everyone’s Books. The program is made possible through the generous support of a Brattleboro Town Arts Fund grant. For more information, email [email protected].
