Wet/dry weather pattern continues to bring us a soggy spring

Good day to you, fine folks of southeastern Vermont! Man oh man, the first half of the spring of 2019 continues to deliver consistent bouts of wet weather, be it from frontal passages or actual storm systems.

For now, we're stuck in this west-to-east flow that's sending these Pacific disturbances through southern Vermont, and we should remain there for at least the next week.

We do have a couple of beautiful, fair weather days coming up for Wednesday and Saturday. Thursday looks mostly dry, but clouds will be increasing with rain moving in Thursday night and lasting into Friday night.

Mother's Day on Sunday should start off dry and possibly partly sunny, but rain will move in again for the second half of Sunday into Monday. Hopefully, Tuesday will be a third fair weather day in our upcoming week. With that said, let's jump into the daily details.

For Wednesday, high pressures noses down from the north and exhales a beautiful day across southern Vermont, with partly to mostly sunny skies and highs in the mid to upper 50s with light north winds. Lows Wednesday night will dip into the upper 30s to low 40s under partly cloudy skies.

For Thursday, high pressure should be slow to depart to our east. However, clouds will be on the increase as a warm front starts to pool moisture and spread it northeast into our region.

Expect an unseasonably cool, mostly cloudy day with highs near 50 degrees. Some showers should be working into the region by the afternoon, with a better chance of showers at night. Lows will drop to near 40 degrees.

For Friday, a rainstorm is on the way as low pressure tracks southwest to northeast through the region. Highs will be in the mid 50s, with continued showers at night and lows in the mid 40s.

Saturday will be the pick of the weekend, with partly sunny skies developing after morning clouds. Highs should climb to near 60 degrees with lows in the 40s under partly cloudy skies.

Sunday should start off partly sunny and dry, but recent guidance is trending toward showers moving in during the afternoon and lasting into Monday with highs 55 to 60 degrees during those two days.

Hopefully, by Tuesday. we can get some more sunshine to show its brilliant little face. Have a great week!
