Housing Action Fair planned for June 9

BRATTLEBORO-The Housing Coalition of Southeastern Vermont invites residents of the region to its first Housing Action Fair, to be held on Monday, June 9, from 4 to 6 p.m., at American Legion Post 5, 32 Linden Street.

This free event is supported by a grant from Champlain Valley Office of Economic Opportunity (CVOEO) and will be an opportunity for attendees to connect with local and statewide organizations, learn about housing unit development resources, and explore funding, programs and services, and other options for tenants, homeowners, and unit creators. Refreshments will be served.

"If you want to be a part of the housing solutions in our region, from single unit creation [such as accessory dwelling units or ADUs] through larger developments, or need housing support or services, this event is for you," organizers wrote in a news release.

Resource tables and technical assistance will be provided by 3E Thermal, Brattleboro Area Affordable Housing (Apartments in Homes Program), Brattleboro Fire Department, Brattleboro Housing Partnerships, Brattleboro Planning Department, Center for Solace, CVOEO (Champlain Valley Office of Economic Opportunity) Fair Housing Project, Early Education Services, Efficiency Vermont, eXp Realty (The Kate Barry Team), Groundworks Collaborative, Interaction: Youth Services & Restorative Justice, Logic Building Systems, M&S Development, SEVCA (Southeastern Vermont Community Action), Sharing Housing Inc., Vermont State Housing Authority, Windham & Windsor Housing Trust, and the Windham County Lead Hazard Control & Healthy Homes Program.

The Housing Coalition of Southeastern Vermont is open to all and joins cross-sector partners focused on housing and homelessness in the region with priorities to increase and improve housing stock, support housing retention, and advocate for housing resources for the community.

It has three active subcommittees - Community Homelessness Strategy Team, Housing Services, and Housing Development. The Coalition serves Athens, Brattleboro, Brookline, Dover, Dummerston, Guilford, Halifax, Jamaica, Marlboro, Newfane, Putney, Somerset, Stratton, Townshend, Vernon, Wardsboro, Westminster, Whitingham, and Wilmington.
