BRATTLEBORO-Peter Siegel, founding member of The Gaslight Tinkers, hosts local, seasoned, and touring songwriter acts on the first Sunday of every month at the new Marigold on Main Street.
On Sunday, Aug. 3, from 7 to 9 p.m., the event will be guest hosted by singer-songwriter, guitarist, and songleader Shawn Magee.
Magee was known as a part of The Barbary Ghosts, a well-known sea chantey singing band from the West Coast. Here in Brattleboro, he has been a prolific songwriter, reflecting on our times. Shawn will be joined by two other local songwriters still to be determined.
During the Covid pandemic, Siegel hosted a livestream from his porch in downtown Brattleboro with one local guest musician a week. This was a showcase of the amazing talent within a "stone's throw" of his house with hundreds of viewers around the world tuning in for almost two years. This is an in-person monthly revival of that series.
The event is free, though donations will be welcome. For more information on the venue and series, visit brattleboro.com/downtown/marigold.
