BRATTLEBORO — I hope the protests against the availability of guns escalate into a protest against the war in Afghanistan.
Two or three years ago, I saw a devastating photography show at the Brattleboro Museum & Art Center. It featured large-scale photographs of soldiers maimed in that war.
Guys with prosthetic arms and legs. For what? What a waste! How many years have we been over there - 16? Are we trying to export democracy to a region stuck in the Middle Ages with tribal lords? There are kids being killed over there, too.
A hopeless task! Let's stop this war. Now!
