Rockingham Old Home Days returns this weekend

ROCKINGHAM-The Bellows Falls Downtown Development Alliance (BFDDA), in partnership with the Rockingham Old Home Days Committee and community organizations throughout the town, present the return of Rockingham Old Home Days Weekend, taking place Friday, July 31, through Sunday, Aug. 2.

This year’s celebration brings together new traditions and long-standing favorites for a weekend that celebrates the history, people, and community spirit of Rockingham.

The weekend begins Friday, July 31, with a Community Car Show hosted by the Hit or Miss Car Club from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The show will be held in the BDR Transport parking lot on Route 5, the new home of the Twin Falls Training Center. Visitors are invited to enjoy an evening of classic, custom, antique, and specialty vehicles while kicking off the Old Home Days festivities.

On Saturday, Aug. 1, the Bellows Falls Fish Ladder will host a full day of special programming from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Visitors are encouraged to stop by one of the community’s unique natural and historic attractions to enjoy educational exhibits, interactive activities, and learn more about the annual migration of fish along the Connecticut River.

Also on Saturday, the centerpiece of the weekend will bring the community together for a full day of activities throughout the area. The festival, which is happening from 4 to 9 p.m., features local vendors, community organizations, live entertainment, food vendors, family activities, demonstrations, and opportunities to explore and support local businesses.

Residents and visitors alike are invited to spend the day enjoying everything the community has to offer while reconnecting with friends, neighbors, and the traditions that have made Old Home Days a hallmark of summer in Rockingham.

The weekend concludes Sunday, August 2, with the annual Pilgrimage to the Rockingham Meeting House, a cherished tradition that has been part of Old Home Days for more than a century.

“Old Home Days is about celebrating what makes Rockingham such a special place,”BFDDA Executive Director Casey Griffin said in a news release. “By bringing together longtime traditions like the Pilgrimage with exciting new events like the community car show, we’re creating a weekend that honors our past while celebrating the vibrant community we have today.”
